‘Karuppu’ team meets CM Vijay after blockbuster success

Suriya’s 'Karuppu' team meets honorable Tamil Nadu CM Vijay; post-meeting picture goes viral

Suriya and Trisha Krishnan’s latest release, ‘Karuppu,’ directed by RJ Balaji is roaring at the box office with the film inching closer to hitting the Rs 100 crore mark in India. Recently, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay sent his wishes to the team after its strong box office run. He spoke with producer SR Prabu and congratulated him on the film’s success.

Makers share post meeting CM Vijay

The makers of ‘Karuppu’ took to their official social media to share that the team met actor-turned-politician and Tamil Nadu CM Vijay. The makers posted a picture from their meeting and wrote, “We are overjoyed to share that our Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. Joseph Vijay, has extended his heartfelt wishes and congratulations to our producer @prabhu_sr for the grand success of THE ONE @Suriya_offl’s #Karuppu. It is truly wonderful and heartwarming for our entire team to receive his wishes.” A meeting was held where producer S. R. Prabhu went along with members of the Tamil Film Active Producers Association to meet the Chief Minister. A group from the film industry joined him, including top office-bearers like the president, general secretary, treasurer, vice-presidents, and joint secretaries of the association.

About ‘Karuppu’

In ‘Karuppu’, Suriya plays Saravanan, a lawyer who later takes the form of local deity Karuppusamy. The story follows a father and daughter who get trapped inside a corrupt legal system. Apart from directing the film, RJ Balaji also plays the main villain. It also stars Indrans, Natty, Swasika, Sshivada, Anagha Maya Ravi, and Supreeth Reddy in important roles. The music is composed by Sai Abhyankkar.

‘Karuppu’ box office collection

Speaking of the film’s live box office numbers, as of May 19 afternoon, the film has made a net of Rs 1.99 crore today, across 2,407 shows. This brings the total India gross collections to Rs 97.65 crore. In addition, the film has made worldwide collections of Rs 142.30 crore so far. Go to Source
