Tensions between Donald Trump and Iran have escalated sharply after Trump’s return to Washington following his China visit. Trump has once again warned Iran, saying it must agree to a peace deal or face “very serious consequences.” In a social media post, he described the situation as “the calm before the storm,” which has fueled speculation about possible military action. Iran has strongly pushed back. Officials, including Iranian leaders, have stated that Tehran is prepared for a military response if the United States launches any attack. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran is ready for renewed conflict, while Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf claimed the Middle East conflict is reshaping the global world order. Reports also suggest the U.S. Pentagon is considering multiple military options, with some media outlets mentioning a possible operation dubbed “Epic Fury 2.0,” although no official confirmation has been made. At the same time, Iran is reportedly planning new regulations in the Strait of Hormuz, including a traffic-control system for ships and replacing toll charges with “service fees.” Only cooperating vessels may be allowed to pass through designated routes. Overall, both sides remain firm, with the U.S. issuing warnings and Iran signaling readiness for confrontation, raising fears of further escalation in the Middle East.
