Actress Tara Sutaria will next be seen playing a key role in the upcoming Yash starrer, ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups,’ directed by Geetu Mohandas. Recently, while appearing at the 79th Cannes Film Festival, she discussed what made her join the team and why the film is special to her.Tara Sutaria will play the character Rebecca in the film. Her character is described as a charming yet dangerous figure. While interacting with The Hollywood Reporter India, the ‘Apurva’ actress said the film brought her much happiness and satisfaction. She also spoke about the importance of choosing meaningful films instead of doing many projects just for work. Tara said she is completely happy doing fewer films if the work is good. She shared, “It doesn’t bother me to do less work, I’d rather do good work. I’d rather do 10 Apurvas than do anything else.” The actress explained that this mindset helped her choose a film like ‘Toxic’.

Tara Sutaria talks about strong women in the film

She spoke warmly about the women working in the film and said the experience was very special for her. According to her, every woman in the cast brought strength, style and confidence to the project. She said, “All of the women in this film are fascinating. Everyone is fabulous and fearless.”The actress also shared how rare it is to see women from different stages of life and career come together and celebrate each other on a film set. Tara said she enjoyed simply watching everyone work together whenever they shared scenes.She added, “To witness all of us come together at different ages and stages of our lives and careers, and really celebrate each scene is incredible.”

Tara Sutaria praises Yash and Geetu Mohandas

Tara Sutaria also had kind words for Yash and director Geetu Mohandas. She called Yash an incredible co-star and human being. The actress said she likes being part of film sets where there is honesty, purpose and respect. Talking about Geetu Mohandas, the ‘Tadap’ actress said working under a woman director made a huge difference for everyone on set. She said the atmosphere during filming felt meaningful and comfortable.Speaking about ‘Toxic,’ the film also features Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth in key roles.
