NEET UG 2026 Cancelled: Students Express Anguish, Demand Fair Re-Exam After Paper Leak

The cancellation of NEET UG 2026 following allegations of a paper leak has triggered widespread disappointment and frustration among students across the country. Many aspirants, who had dedicated years of rigorous preparation and long study hours, expressed shock and emotional distress after learning that the examination they had appeared for would have to be conducted again. Students shared that the exam was extremely challenging and they had high expectations of securing admission to government medical colleges. However, the announcement of cancellation has left them mentally disturbed, as months of preparation and confidence built before the exam now appear uncertain. Several aspirants stated that they had followed strict study schedules, sacrificed personal time, and relied heavily on coaching institutions and teachers for guidance. Many students have demanded a fair and transparent re-examination process, but also raised concerns about whether the entire country should be subjected to another exam cycle or only the affected regions where alleged leaks occurred. They argued that while strict investigation is necessary, honest candidates should not be penalized for the actions of others. Aspirants also highlighted the emotional toll of repeated disruptions in national-level entrance exams. According to them, sudden cancellations impact motivation, break preparation rhythm, and create psychological pressure, especially for students who are preparing for highly competitive medical seats. Some students suggested that authorities must identify the exact sources of the leak and ensure strict action before conducting a fresh exam. Education experts note that such incidents underline the urgent need for stronger examination security systems, transparent processes, and accountability mechanisms to restore student trust. Meanwhile, authorities have assured that a fresh exam schedule will be announced soon, and efforts are being made to ensure fairness and integrity in the re-conducted examination process nationwide.
