Breaking: NEET Paper Leak Network Spreads Across 4 States; CBI Takes Over Probe

The NEET UG 2026 paper leak controversy has taken a major turn with fresh revelations indicating that the leak network is far more extensive than initially believed. According to investigation inputs shared by sources, the first copy of the leaked question paper was allegedly prepared in Nashik, Maharashtra, before being circulated across multiple states through a coordinated network. The leaked material is said to have reached Haryana, where multiple copies were reportedly created and further distributed to different regions, including Rajasthan, Kerala, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir. Initially, the case was believed to be limited to Rajasthan and Kerala; however, the emerging details now suggest a multi-state operation involving a wider interstate syndicate. The Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG), which has been leading the probe, has already arrested several accused, including an alleged mastermind identified as Manish, who is currently under custody and being interrogated. Officials have indicated that Kerala and Uttarakhand links had also surfaced earlier during the investigation, further expanding the scope of the case. As the complexity of the alleged leak network grew, authorities recommended handing over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to ensure a deeper and nationwide investigation. Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has defended its decision to cancel the examination, stating that it was taken in the interest of students to maintain transparency and fairness. NTA officials have assured that a fresh exam date will be announced soon and urged candidates not to panic. The agency has also emphasized that the decision was necessary to protect the integrity of the examination system and ensure justice for lakhs of aspirants affected by the disruption. The CBI is expected to now trace the complete chain of the alleged leak network and identify all individuals and institutions involved across states.
