PM Alert: Modi Urges Indians to Cut Fuel Use, Avoid Gold Buying Amid Global Crisis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to citizens to adopt economic discipline and conserve national resources amid rising global uncertainty and supply chain disruptions. Addressing concerns over escalating fuel prices, energy shortages, and pressure on foreign exchange reserves, the Prime Minister urged people to minimize the use of petrol and diesel and shift toward sustainable alternatives. He encouraged citizens to use public transport systems such as metros, opt for carpooling, and prefer electric vehicles wherever possible. Stressing the importance of remote work culture, he also advised companies and professionals to revive work-from-home practices, virtual meetings, and video conferencing to reduce fuel consumption. The Prime Minister further appealed to people to avoid unnecessary foreign travel and overseas destination weddings, urging citizens to spend within the country to strengthen the domestic economy. In a significant suggestion aimed at reducing pressure on foreign exchange reserves, he advised Indians to refrain from purchasing gold for at least one year. Highlighting the impact of rising global commodity prices, especially crude oil and fertilizers, the Prime Minister also called for reduced consumption of edible oils and chemical fertilizers. He emphasized the need to adopt natural farming, organic agriculture, and indigenous alternatives to reduce dependency on imports. Government experts believe these measures are intended to shield citizens from the worsening global economic crisis while ensuring long-term energy and financial stability for the country. Analysts say the appeal reflects growing concerns over inflation, supply disruptions, and international geopolitical tensions affecting fuel and commodity markets worldwide.
