Kiara breaks into tears speaking about postpartum journey after daughter’s birth

Kiara Advani breaks into tears while speaking about postpartum journey, recalls Sidharth Malhotra’s support after daughter’s birth

Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra became parents to a baby girl last year. While Kiara has been enjoying motherhood, she’s now slowly getting back to work. The actress will be seen next in ‘Toxic’ alongside Yash. In a recent interview, she opened up on her postpartum journey, speaking candidly about the emotional changes she experienced after becoming a mother and the support she received from husband Sidharth Malhotra during that phase. In a conversation on Figuring Out with Raj Shamani, Kiara became emotional while reflecting on life after the birth of her daughter in July 2025. The actor described motherhood as a deeply transformative experience that brought with it a major shift in identity and emotions.Talking about the months following childbirth, Kiara admitted that the transition initially felt overwhelming. She shared that it took her time to understand what she was feeling and to process the emotional changes that came with becoming a mother. “There’s such an identity shift. It’s a completely new world,” she said.Kiara revealed that it took nearly six months before she consciously began slowing down and paying attention to her own emotional well-being. Having spent most of her life prioritising others, the actor said motherhood unexpectedly helped her reconnect with herself in a more meaningful way.”You realise you’re doing so much for everyone else. You forget about the relationship you need to have with yourself. The things you need to tell yourself. I’ve been so other-centric. What’s changed since my baby was born is that I finally found the time to nurture that relationship that I need to have with myself, and it’s probably the best thing,” the 34-year-old said. She also spoke warmly about Sidharth Malhotra’s support during that period, revealing that he made consistent efforts to be there for her despite his packed work schedule. Kiara shared that in the early days after childbirth, her emotions were heightened and even minor things would make her cry.At the time, Sidharth was busy promoting one of his films, but she said he still ensured he spent quality time with her. According to Kiara, he would often visit her at her mother’s house late at night after work. She further recalled that, following her doctor’s advice, Sidharth started taking her out on short nightly drives, something that eventually became comforting for her.“In those early days, I was extremely emotional, the smallest things would trigger tears, something we laugh about now. On our doctor’s advice, he started taking me out for a drive every night. It was something very simple, but it helped me step out, get some fresh air and break that overwhelming routine,” Kiara recalled.Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra got married in February 2023 and welcomed their daughter, Saraayah, in July 2025.
