Diljit Dosanjh shuts down Punjab politics buzz

‘Kadey v nhi’: Diljit Dosanjh shuts down Punjab politics buzz, says he's happier entertaining

Diljit Dosanjh has firmly shut down appeals to enter Punjab politics, saying “Kadey v Nhi” and reaffirming his focus on entertainment. The actor-musician, currently busy with films and his Aura Tour, recently made headlines for addressing pro-Khalistani protesters at a concert and speaking about Indian history on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Diljit Dosanjh, who often champions Punjab on global stages, has made it clear that politics is not on his agenda. When asked to step in as the ‘new face’ of Punjab politics, the actor-musician turned down the suggestion with a courteous but firm “never.” His remark comes soon after he addressed pro-Khalistani protesters at a concert and spoke about Punjab’s history during his appearance on ‘The Jimmy Fallon Show.’

The appeal that started it all for Diljit Dosanjh

An article in Punjabi Tribune, titled ‘Can Diljit Dosanjh be the new political face of Punjab?’ highlighted a public appeal made by a group of civil society members urging the actor-singer to step into politics. The group, which includes retired soldiers and individuals from various fields and is led by former bureaucrat SS Boparai, reportedly feels Diljit should take on a leadership role, largely because he has never actively sought one.

Diljit Dosanjh’s firm reply

Diljit responded to the post by rejecting the appeal and stating that he prefers to focus on his work in acting and music. He wrote, “Kadey v Nhi…Mera Kam Entertainment Karna. (Never. My job is to entertain. I am very happy in my field. Thank You So Much.” His reply drew reactions from fans, with one commenting, “Thank you! Don’t waste your life’s purpose chasing politics. You will lose yourself in that dirty space,” while another said, “Good reply. ”

Diljit Dosanjh’s packed schedule

Diljit was last seen in the Punjabi film ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ in 2025 and in the Hindi film ‘Border 2’ this year. He is set to appear next in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga,’ alongside Vedang Raina, Sharvari Wagh, and Naseeruddin Shah. The actor-singer has also been occupied with his Aura Tour, where he performs tracks from his 2025 album.

Diljit Dosanjh’s emotional moment on Jimmy Fallon

Recently, the actor-musician made an appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, where he spoke about the painful history of Indians being denied entry into Canada. Reflecting on a landmark concert moment, he said, “That stadium we did in Vancouver…like 1914, our people came for the first time to Canada; they didn’t allow us to come and go to Canada. And that stadium is just two kilometers away from the Guru Nanak Jahaz Komagata Maru incident. So, it’s a big thing for us now, 55,000 people in the one stadium there, just two kilometers away; you didn’t allow us to come. And now, here we are, man. So, that’s why it’s amazing.”The star also grabbed headlines when he boldly confronted protesters waving pro-Khalistani flags at one of his concerts, roaring at them, “If you still have an issue that I sat across from someone on television…jinne jhande dikhane dilkhai challo (then keep waving how many flags you want to).” Go to Source
