‘This is all about election’: Immigration attorneys on Ken Paxton’s investigation into 30 H-1B ‘ghost offices’

'This is all about election': Immigration attorneys on Ken Paxton's investigation into 30 H-1B 'ghost offices'

Immigration attorneys said Ken Paxton’s recent actions against H-1B are motivated by election.

Immigration attorneys Rahul Reddy and Emily Neumann reacted to the recent announcement of an investigation into 30 North Texas businesses by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and commented that it is all about the upcoming election, as he had been the AG of the state for a long time, but these surprise announcements are only coming now.Tekpro IT LLC, Fame PBX LLC, 1st Ranking Technologies LLC, Qubitz Tech Systems LLC, Blooming Clouds LLC, Virat Solutions Inc., Oak Technologies Inc., Techpath Inc., and Techquency LLC are some of the firms coming under the investigation on the allegation that they are running ghost offices, which means there are no H-1B workers in their office address.“I’m taking legal action as part of my investigation into nearly 30 North Texas businesses suspected of H-1B visa fraud. I want to thank @SaraGonzalesTX for her efforts in exposing H-1B fraud across the state,” Paxton wrote, tagging Texas journalist and whistleblower Sara Gonzales.Reddy said if H-1B visa holders face the Spanish woman (Sara Gonzales) questioning them, they should just say ‘No hablo español’ and not engage with her as she is only targeting Indians and H-1B visa holders. They are saying there are no jobs and then they are saying Indians are taking these jobs, Reddy said. “So it’s not clear what they are trying to say apart from that they hate India,” the Indian-origin immigration attorney said on the incerased targeting of Indians in Texas.Speaking on ‘ghost offices’, Neumann said it is quite natural that H-1B workers are not found in the offices of those who hired them as they are hired for the cliennts’ site and that must be mentioned in the LCA.Neumann said Paxton is doing all this because of the election as he is racing against John Cornyn for the Senate, and they are racing to the bottom when it comes to immigration.
