The investigation into the murder of BJP leader Shuvendu Adhikari’s PA Chandranath Rath has intensified, with the CID and forensic teams now actively handling the case. The teams have reached the crime scene in Madhyamgram and are collecting crucial evidence, including recovered bullet shells. CCTV footage and physical evidence are being closely examined to reconstruct the sequence of events. Preliminary inputs suggest the suspected vehicle involved in the attack entered the area hours before the murder, raising concerns of prior reconnaissance. Police are also probing the possibility that the attackers conducted a detailed recce before executing the planned shooting and escaped in different directions after the incident. Meanwhile, the case has taken a strong political turn, with BJP leaders accusing TMC leadership of involvement, including allegations directed at Abhishek Banerjee and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. These claims have further escalated political tensions in West Bengal, as the investigation continues at multiple levels.
