Manchester United set to conclude transfer window with a double deal: Report

Manchester United are reportedly looking to end the transfer window on a high. The Red Devils have already splurged over £200 million this summer and may conclude the window by signing a new goalkeeper.

The transfer window’s final hours are proving anything but quiet at Old Trafford, with Manchester United orchestrating what could be their most significant summer business yet. With Monday’s deadline looming, the Red Devils are reportedly eager to complete a striker departure while finalising a deal for a new goalkeeper.

Rasmus Hojlund’s Manchester United chapter appears to be reaching its conclusion, with Napoli reportedly closing in on a loan deal worth €6m plus an obligation to buy for €44m if they qualify for the Champions League. The Danish striker, who cost United around £72m from Atalanta, has managed just 26 goals since his arrival, a return that prompted United to explore options.

United set to secure deal for Senne Lammens

Following a horrific campaign on all levels last season, the MUFC management was keen to bring in an upgrade on the Dane, and thereby signed Benjamin Sesko. While Hojlund’s potential departure would be seen as a significant financial loss for United, the move still makes sense for all parties involved.

Meanwhile, the goalkeeper situation continues to develop rapidly. Manchester United are getting closer to securing Senne Lammens, with the 23-year-old on the verge of completing his move to Old Trafford. Royal Antwerp manager Stef Wils has been honest about the situation, confirming Lammens is following an individual training program to minimise injury risk ahead of his expected departure.

“Senne is following an individual program, in consultation with all parties,” Wils said, as quoted by the Mirror. That’s a logical decision. Since this could be a major outgoing transfer, we want to minimise the risk of injuries.”

Manchester United face missing out on first-choice goalkeeper target Senne Lammens after Turkish giants Galatasaray have reportedly joined the race to sign the player. However, United remain confident of securing their man, with talks progressing throughout the weekend.

The potential double deal would conclude a remarkable summer for United, who have already invested heavily in new talent. Whether these moves prove successful remains to be seen, but Amorim’s squad will certainly look different.
