In a significant development from Uttar Pradesh, a wanted criminal carrying a reward of ₹50,000 was killed during a police encounter in the Khurja area of Bulandshahr district. The accused, identified as Jeetu, was the prime suspect in a recent triple murder case that had sent shockwaves across the region. According to police officials, the encounter took place during a routine checking operation when the accused attempted to escape and opened fire on the police team. During the exchange of gunfire, one inspector and a constable sustained bullet injuries and were immediately taken to a hospital for treatment. Their condition is said to be stable. Police retaliated in self-defense, critically injuring the accused. He was rushed to a hospital but later died from his injuries. Authorities confirmed that Jeetu was the main accused in the April 25 triple murder incident, where he allegedly shot dead three of his friends during a birthday celebration following a dispute over a minor issue. The incident had triggered widespread outrage, leading to a massive manhunt by the police. So far, five accused have already been arrested in connection with the case. Jeetu, who was absconding, was considered the key accused. Police also recovered an illegal firearm and a scooter from the spot. Officials stated that efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining absconding suspects, each carrying a reward of ₹50,000.
