NEW UPDATE: PM Modi Launches 594 KM Ganga Expressway in UP for Faster Connectivity Boost

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, where he is set to inaugurate the much-anticipated Ganga Expressway, marking a major milestone in the state’s infrastructure development. The 594-kilometre-long, six-lane expressway has been completed with provisions for future expansion up to eight lanes, making it one of the most significant connectivity projects in northern India. The expressway connects 12 districts of Uttar Pradesh, starting from Meerut in western UP and passing through Hapur, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, and ending at Prayagraj in eastern UP. This high-speed corridor is expected to drastically reduce travel time between western and eastern Uttar Pradesh—from nearly 10–12 hours to just about 5–6 hours. During the event, PM Modi was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, along with Governor Anandiben Patel and senior BJP leaders. A model of the expressway was showcased to the Prime Minister as officials explained its engineering and connectivity advantages. The project is being seen as a major boost for economic activity, trade, and industrial growth across the region. It will significantly improve connectivity between Delhi-NCR and eastern Uttar Pradesh through linked expressway networks, enabling faster movement of goods and people. With Uttar Pradesh heading towards elections in the coming months, the launch is also being viewed as a key political and developmental highlight, strengthening the ruling party’s focus on infrastructure-driven governance.
