Aamir Khan made a rare appearance with his family at the special screening of Ek Din in Mumbai on April 28, and a candid moment from the evening quickly grabbed attention online. The film, starring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, saw Aamir arriving with his children Ira Khan and Junaid, from his first marriage to Reena Dutta, along with his partner Gauri Spratt.Videos from the evening show Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare warmly greeting Aamir Khan’s girlfriend Gauri Spratt with a hug, offering a rare glimpse of the family’s equation with her.At the same time, Aamir Khan was seen walking in hand-in-hand with Gauri, the two sticking close even as they met Junaid and other family members. They continued holding hands while heading into the screening.Another clip showed the entire family—Junaid, Ira, Nupur, Aamir and Gauri—posing together for the paparazzi before stepping inside. Ira and Nupur also took a moment to pose separately, while Aamir and Junaid waited nearby.

Aamir gets emotional, praises Sai Pallavi’s performance

Beyond the warm interactions, the film itself left an impact. Aamir was visibly emotional after watching Ek Din at an earlier screening, with the lead actors seen interacting with him.He heaped praise on Sai Pallavi, saying, “Sai has done such an amazing job, you are going to get blown away. For me, Sai is the best actress we have in our country today.” Speaking about his son, he added with a touch of humour, “Junaid ne bhi thik thak kiya hai. Woh mera beta hai toh kuch bol nahi sakta (Even Junaid did a good job, but he is my son, so I can’t say much). In fact, all the cast members have done a great job, and I am very happy for them.”

Directed by Sunil Pandey, Ek Din is a remake of the 2016 Thai film One Day. The story revolves around a young man who falls for his colleague but cannot confess his feelings—until fate gives him a chance to live that wish for just one day.The film marks Sai Pallavi’s Bollywood debut and Junaid’s second theatrical release after Loveyapa.
