Breaking Alert: Trump Threatens Iran As Pakistan Rushes Diplomacy Before Ceasefire Deadline

Tensions between the United States and Iran have escalated sharply ahead of the looming ceasefire deadline, with diplomacy and threats unfolding simultaneously. Pakistan has stepped up urgent efforts to bring Iran back to the negotiating table, engaging in back-to-back high-level talks within 24 hours. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a crucial call with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who reiterated Tehran’s deep mistrust toward Washington, stating that the US has repeatedly broken its promises. At the same time, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian in a 45-minute conversation aimed at easing tensions and reviving dialogue. Despite these diplomatic efforts, the situation remains volatile. US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh and stark warning, stating that if Iran refuses to reach a deal, the US could target critical infrastructure, including power plants and bridges. His remarks have further intensified concerns over a potential escalation. Key sticking points continue to block progress, including the Strait of Hormuz blockade, Iran’s nuclear program, frozen Iranian assets, and alleged links to regional groups. Both sides remain firm, rejecting each other’s demands and deepening the trust deficit. Meanwhile, Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has delivered a strong statement emphasizing sacrifice and resistance, signaling Tehran’s hardened stance. As the April 22 deadline approaches, fears are mounting that failure in diplomacy could trigger renewed conflict, with global implications and rising concerns over a wider regional war.
