Volkswagen India on Tuesday said it has launched the updated Volkswagen Taigun with a starting price of ₹10,99,900, along with an assured buyback programme offering 75 per cent of the ex-showroom price under specified conditions. The buyback programme is applicable for ownership up to three years and 30,000 km, and will be available on bookings made until May 31, 2026. The company said that the programme includes benefits such as residual value assurance and exchange options. Deliveries of the updated Taigun are expected to begin by the end of April or early May. The updated Taigun includes up to 40 changes and is offered in nine colour options. It is now available with an 8-speed automatic transmission paired with the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine. “Today, with the introduction of the new Taigun, we aim to offer customers the right combination of features, performance, design and safety. Historically, the higher trimlines of this SUV have been more preferred and constitute to nearly 60 per cent of the model’s sales, even for the new Taigun, we have packaged the variants to ensure our customers avail of the best value at an attractive price proposition,” said Nitin Kohli, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India. He added that the assured buyback program is another industry leading package that we have created for customers, bolstering their confidence in ownership and offering a unique impetus to choose the new Taigun.
Variants and features
The model is offered in multiple variants, with prices ranging up to ₹19.29 lakh. The lineup includes manual and automatic options across variants such as Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus, GT Line and GT Plus. The exterior and interior have been updated, while retaining the existing engine options. The 1.0-litre TSI engine produces 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque, now paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre TSI engine, producing 150 PS and 250 Nm, is offered with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The model includes updates to lighting, infotainment and instrumentation systems, along with features such as wireless connectivity, a digital instrument cluster and driver assistance functions.
