EAM Jaishankar thanks UAE president for protecting Indian diaspora amid West Asia conflict

NEW DELHI: External affairs minister S Jaishankar met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. During his meeting with him on Sunday, he expressed his gratitude to the president for ensuring the well-being of the Indian community during the recent West Asia conflict. He also conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed ways to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.Jaishankar shared about the meeting in a post on X as he wrote, “Deeply honoured to call on President of UAE HH Mohamed Bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi today. Conveyed warm greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and our gratitude for ensuring well-being of the Indian community during the West Asia conflict.”He further added about the discussion to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. “Thank him for his guidance on further strengthening the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,” he wrote.The minister also met Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum during the visit, where he reiterated India’s appreciation for the UAE’s continued support for the Indian diaspora, particularly in Dubai. He wrote, “Good to see HH Hamdan Mohammed during the call. Conveyed the appreciation of our Government for ensuring the welfare of the Indian community in Dubai.”The minister also met Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum during the visit, where he reiterated India’s appreciation for the UAE’s continued support for the Indian diaspora, particularly in Dubai.During his visit, he also met with the UAE deputy Prime Minister and foreign minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The two leaders discussed the evolving regional situation and its wider implications. He wrote, “A real pleasure to meet DPM & FM AB Zayed of UAE in Abu Dhabi this evening. Our conversation focused on the evolving regional situation and its implications. Conveyed our deep appreciation for ensuring the well-being of the Indian community in the UAE. Confident that our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will advance further.” Jaishankar expressed India’s deep appreciation for the UAE’s efforts to ensure the well-being of the Indian community in the country, as he also met with the Indian diaspora in Abu Dhabi. During his interaction, he shared the efforts of the GOI to ensure their security and well-being.He further appreciated the community’s contribution and conveyed the UAE government’s efforts towards their best interest. He wrote, “Started my visit to the UAE interacting with the members of the Indian Community. Spoke about GOI’s efforts towards their well – being and security amidst the West Asia conflict. Appreciated their contributions to the local society during these difficult times. As well as the support of the Government of the UAE in ensuring welfare of the Indian community.”
