‘Pot of sins now full’: PM Modi attacks TMC’s ‘Nirmam sarkar’ at Asansol rally

PM Modi in Aasansol

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that a political change in West Bengal was now certain, claiming that people across the state were demanding it.Targeting the ruling Trinamool Congress at an election rally in Asansol, he said, “The pot of TMC’s sins is now full.” PM accused the TMC government of allowing illegal activities in the region. Referring to Asansol’s coal belt, he said, “Asansol is a major part of the coal belt, but under TMC rule, the entire sector is controlled by a syndicate raj, including the coal and sand mafia.”The Prime Minister said the election was not only about changing the government but also about restoring the region’s industrial strength. “This election is to get rid of mafia rule, and only a BJP government can accomplish this,” he said.“After May 4, the ‘Nirmam Sarkar’ (insensitive government) will be gone. A BJP government will address every problem in this region,” PM claimed. Highlighting development plans, he claimed that investment had declined in the once-thriving industrial belt and said only a “double-engine government” could reverse the situation. The Prime Minister also said that the Centre has allocated money for the revival of industries in Asansol, adding that despite “hurdles” from the state government, the BJP had contributed to the region’s development. PM Modi also raised concerns about women’s safety in the state. He said, “Bengal is the land of Shakti worship, but under the present ‘Nirmam sarkar’, the situation in Bengal has deteriorated.” Referring to recent incidents, he said, “Incidents like those in RG Kar and the horrific scenes of Sandeshkhali reflect this. The TMC has often been seen standing openly in support of perpetrators of crimes,” he claimed.
