SRK, Saurav Ganguly’s hug leaves the internet gushing: VIDEO

Shah Rukh Khan, Saurav Ganguly hug at Eden Gardens, the internet can't keep calm - WATCH VIDEO

Shah Rukh Khan fans were in for a treat as they got to see the star make a public appearance after a while. SRK was spotted in Kolkata with his daughter Suhana Khan as they arrived to support their IPL franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders, during their clash against Punjab Kings at Eden Gardens. Their presence brought an added dose of glamour to the high-profile encounter. Among the standout moments of the day was SRK’s warm reunion with former India skipper Sourav Ganguly, which quickly grabbed attention online as clips and photos circulated widely. SRK and Suhana, currently occupied with the shoot of their upcoming film King, had flown in to attend the match on Monday. However, the game was ultimately called off due to a wet outfield. Later, the official handles of KKR shared a video capturing Shah Rukh and Sourav greeting each other with a hug and a brief chat. Injured cricketer Harshit Rana was also present, along with SRK’s manager Pooja Dadlani. Posting the clip on Instagram, the team captioned it, “When the KING met the PRINCE OF BENGAL.” This comes as a treat for fans, years after their so called ‘divorce’. When Saurav was removed as the captain of KKR during the initial years of the team, things were not fine between them. In a documentary made on the team, ‘Living with KKR’, Shah Rukh had spoken about this entire incident. He had said, “All these thoughts started coming in that maybe the format is not suiting the great players.”SRK had also called it a divorce of sort. He said, “If it’s not going to be Sourav leading KKR, then we will rehash the whole team. We were the only people who put the whole team back into the IPL pool. That was the only way we could show respect to the greatness and the beginnings that Sourav Ganguly gave us in KKR.” He added, “Sometimes it’s better to just sit down and say you know what, this is not working out. Not because you are not good, not because I am not good, it’s like a divorce. Sometimes you say sweetheart, I hope you are happy and have a happier life and so will I, let’s just move on. How right it is for Sourav to have paid the price for the wrong that the whole system in KKR was, I don’t know.”Fans couldn’t keep calm to see this warm hug between SRK and Ganguly. A user said, “his hugs are back!!” Another said, “Ask the king to make him the Coach or the Director at KKR and you will see the magic….Venky and his decisions post a winning season are totally beyond comprehension and that is where you need someone like dada to ensure consistency!!” A third fan wrote, “Our king in our den,” while another described it as the “Ultimate Eden Gardens reunion.”On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan, last seen in Dunki, is gearing up for his next big-screen outing, King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film also features Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Saurabh Shukla, Arshad Warsi, and Raghav Juyal in key roles. Scheduled to release on December 24, 2026, the film’s first glimpse has already heightened anticipation among fans. Go to Source
