Marathi actor Bal Karve, famous for 'Gundya Bhau' role, passes away at 95

Veteran Marathi actor Bal Karve, famous for his role as ‘Gundya Bhau’ in Chimanrao, died at 95. He was also a civil engineer. Known for his stellar comic timing, Karve was a key figure in Marathi theatre and TV, co-founding Kilbil Balrangmanch. His legacy continues to inspire many.

Veteran Marathi actor Bal Karve passed away peacefully at his home in Vile Parle, Mumbai, on Thursday morning, August 28. He was 95 years old and had just celebrated his birthday. Known for his iconic role as Gundyabhau in the Marathi TV serial ‘Chimanrao’, Karve’s demise leaves a deep void in theatre and television.
