‘Dragging US towards living hell’: Iran slams Trump’s ‘Tuesday threat’ over Strait of Hormuz closure

'Dragging US towards living hell': Iran slams Trump's 'Tuesday threat' over Strait of Hormuz closure

US President Donald Trump

Iran on Sunday strongly hit back at US President Donald Trump over his expletive-laden ‘Tuesday threat’, stating that his ‘reckless moves’ are dragging Washington towards a ‘living hell’.The sharp response comes as Tehran accused Trump of escalating tensions and pushing the region towards dangerous instability as the conflict in West Asia continues to intensify.Tehran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf in a post on X, accused Trump of reckless escalation and alleged that Washington’s actions are being driven by Israeli interests, particularly those of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.“Your reckless moves are dragging the United States into a living HELL for every single family, and our whole region is going to burn because you insist on following Netanyahu’s commands. Make no mistake: You won’t gain anything through war crimes. The only real solution is respecting the rights of the Iranian people and ending this dangerous game,” he wrote.

Trump’s ultimatum over the Strait of Hormuz

Ghalibaf’s statement came after Trump issued a strong warning to Iran, demanding that it reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil shipping route and threatening severe military action if Tehran fails to comply. In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F****n’ Strait, you crazy b*****, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah,” he stated.Earlier, Trump had also given a 48-hour ultimatum, stating: “Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out–48 hours before all hell will rain down on them. Glory be to GOD! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

Iran rejects threat, military issues sharp rebuke

Iran has firmly rejected Trump’s warning, with senior military officials also responding in strong terms. General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi from Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters described the US President’s remarks as “a helpless, nervous, unbalanced and stupid action.”Echoing the tone of Trump’s threat, he added that: “The simple meaning of this message is that the gates of hell will open for you,” according to AFP.The exchange comes amid heightened tensions following reports that an American F-15 fighter jet was shot down by Iranian air defences earlier this week, triggering a high-risk rescue operation by US forces. In a separate post, Trump claimed that US forces successfully rescued a wounded crew member from deep inside Iranian territory, describing it as a rare and dangerous mission. The latest exchange comes amid the escalating situation in West Asia where the US, Israel and Iran are involved in a conflict that started on February 28.
