Kuwait’s ministries complex building and Shuwaikh oil sector complex was targeted in a drone attack on Sunday. The country’s finance ministry said that the attack on “ministries building complex” was due to a “hostile drone attack” as a result of the “unjust Iranian aggression”. Videos of the attack show flames erupting from a part of the Shuwaikh oil sector complex. The authorities confirmed that no casualties have been reported so far. “The Ministry of Finance announces that the Ministries Complex building in Kuwait City was targeted on Saturday evening, April 4, 2026, by a hostile drone as a result of the unjust Iranian aggression. This resulted in significant material damage to the building, with no human injuries reported, praise be to God. Emergency teams and the relevant authorities responded immediately to the incident in accordance with approved procedures,” the finance ministry said in a staement on X. Kuwait’s military said that its air defence systems were actively intercepting incoming missiles and drones, as Iran pressed on with its offensive across the Gulf in retaliation for US-Israeli strikes.”Kuwaiti Air Defenses are currently responding to hostile missile and drone threats,” the Kuwaiti army posted on X, adding that any explosions heard were the result of air defence interceptions.Gulf states, including Kuwait, have come under Iranian attacks in retaliation for the February 28 strikes by the United States and Israel, which have since escalated into a broader regional conflict.
