Did Sanjay Gupta take a dig at Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Ramayana’?

Did Sanjay Gupta take a dig at Ranbir Kapoor's 'Ramayana'? Netizens think so as he says, 'khoda pahad nikla chuha'

The much awaited first look teaser of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama from ‘Ramayana’ has just been revealed after much anticipation. While the teaser has gotten a mixed response, largely people have loved Ranbir get into the shoes of Lord Rama. Just as netizens and many celebrities have reacted to the teaser, film-maker Sanjay Gupta has now dropped a cryptic note. He took to X, formerly Twitter and wrote, “KHODA PAHAAD… NIKLA CHUHA.” This is a Hindi expression often used to describe a situation where great expectations lead to an underwhelming result.Although Gupta did not mention any film or offer further context, several users speculated that his comment was directed at the teaser of Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious mythological project. This is to clarify that the director never explicitly linked his post to ‘Ramayana’. However, the timing of the tweet prompted many on social media to draw their own conclusions. The post soon triggered mixed reactions, while some criticised Gupta’s apparent remark, others responded with sarcasm. One user wrote, “not in good taste, must not be from industry person.” Another commented, “strange to see a comment from a filmmaker who is judging a two-minute teaser in his mobile of a movie which has been filmed for IMAX. “See More: ‘Ramayana’ teaser live updates: Ranbir Kapoor, Nitesh Tiwari set for grand ‘Rama’ reveal on Hanuman JayantiSome users also agreed to Gupta in case he was really referring to the ‘Ramayana’ teaser. A person wrote, “Hard Agree. The teaser of Ramayana is so mid and Ranbir Kapoor as Rama is the biggest casting mistake.” Another one said, “Exactly.Very underwhelming. I just saw thanos too in the teaser….” This isn’t the first instance where Gupta’s posts have been perceived as a subtle dig at Ramayana. Earlier, after producer Namit Malhotra revealed that the two-part epic is being made on a staggering budget of nearly Rs 4,000 crore, Gupta had shared another post on X that read, “MATRIX, LORD OF THE RINGS, AVATAAR, DUNE, STARWARS, etc. All films with groundbreaking never seen before VFX. None spoke about it before the release. They let the work speak for itself”. While he didn’t name any project, many users at the time believed the comment was aimed at the Ramayana team, again pointing to the timing.Gupta is known for directing films like ‘Kaante’, ‘Musafir’, ‘Jazbaa’, ‘Kaabil’, and ‘Shootout at Wadala’.See More: ‘Ramayana’ Teaser: Ranbir Kapoor debuts as Lord Rama with Yash as Ravana in EPIC first glimpse – WATCH Go to Source
