Ahead of the ‘Rama’ first glimpse launch on April 2, Ranbir Kapoor, along with director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra, headed to Los Angeles, where they debuted the first visuals from their film to a select audience at an IMAX screening. At the event, the trio also sat down for a Q and A, where they answered questions about their upcoming film, their characters and more. In a video that has now turned up from the event, Ranbir is seen taking centre stage as he shares his insights into his portrayal of Lord Rama. Speaking during the launch, Kapoor described Lord Rama not just as a mythological character, not just as a ‘conscious keeper’, but also introduced the weestern audience to the term ‘Maryada Purushottam’ meaning the ideal man.

At the event, Ranbir said, “Ram has been the conscious keeper of billions of people around the globe for centuries and long after. He enlightens us about the human spirit in terms of adversities. He stands for compassion, for courage, for righteousness and forgiveness. He is called Maryada Purushottam, which stands for an ideal man.” Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film, which is riding on a huge budget, aims to present a grand retelling of the epic saga. The Los Angeles event is reportedly part of the team’s broader international rollout strategy. The team headed to the US to debut the first glimpse. This follows a special screening in the US of the film for a test audience.

‘Ramayana’ first glimpse runtime revealed

According to reports, the first glimpse titled ‘RAMA’ has been certified with a runtime of 2 min and 38 sec. As per producer Malhotra the first glimpse will release in India on 2nd April, on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.

‘Ramayana’ cast and release date

The epic saga will feature an ensemble cast of Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as the antagonist Ravana, with Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.’Ramayana’, the two-part epic is slated for a worldwide IMAX release, with Part 1 arriving on Diwali 2026 and Part 2 on Diwali 2027.
