Critical reception

The film received mixed to positive reviews from critics. ETimes noted, “The film benefits from an intriguing premise and a few well-handled investigative sequences that keep viewers engaged. Several moments, particularly when clues begin connecting — add tension and maintain interest in the mystery. However, the pacing occasionally slows, especially in portions where the narrative lingers longer than necessary. These stretches slightly dilute the suspense that the film works hard to build. Technically, Mrithyunjay maintains a consistent tone. The cinematography supports the thriller atmosphere, while the background score enhances the tension without overwhelming the scenes. The storytelling remains focused on the investigative process, giving the film a steady narrative rhythm even when it briefly loses momentum.”

Alongside Sree Vishnu, the film features Reba Monica John in a key role as ACP Seetha Patra. The supporting cast includes Baby Uha, Sudharshan, Raccha Ravi, Ayyappa, Sijju, and Aishwarya. On the technical front, cinematography is handled by Vidya Sagar Chinta, while editing is done by Sreekar Prasad and the music for the film is composed by Kaala Bhairava.
