Florida man crashes car through airport gate, tries to enter planes in Daytona Beach

A Florida man is facing multiple criminal charges after authorities say he drove his car through a security gate at Daytona Beach International Airport and tried to break into several aircraft while under the influence of alcohol and drugs.According to police, the incident happened on Wednesday afternoon when 58-year-old Bryan Parker crashed his vehicle through a restricted access gate at the airport in Daytona Beach, Florida. After entering the secured area, Parker drove onto the airfield, where private and charter planes were parked.Investigators say Parker got out of his vehicle and attempted to enter three different aircraft. He managed to get inside one of the planes, which was not carrying passengers at the time.

An airport technician who was nearby saw what was happening and pulled him out of the aircraft before anyone was harmed.Authorities said Parker then ran toward another plane and tried to get inside again, but he was stopped by airport personnel and law enforcement officers who quickly responded to the scene.Police reports state that Parker appeared to be heavily intoxicated. During his arrest, body camera footage captured him admitting that he had been drinking alcohol and using drugs. He told officers that he had attended an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting earlier but then began drinking and using cocaine and marijuana.No injuries were reported during the incident, and no aircraft were damaged, according to officials.Parker was taken into custody at the scene. He is now facing several charges, including driving under the influence, trespassing in a secure area of an airport, and attempting to unlawfully enter an aircraft.The incident remains under investigation as authorities review security footage and gather further details about how Parker was able to breach the airport gate and access the airfield.
