Pakistan Shares US Ceasefire Demands To Iran; Tehran Denies Talks, Vows To Continue War

Sources told Al Jazeera that Pakistan has conveyed the United States’ ceasefire demands to Iran and is waiting for Tehran’s response, as back-channel diplomacy continues amid the ongoing war. Iran, however, has pushed back against US President Donald Trump’s claims that negotiations are underway, with military officials dismissing the remarks and insisting that operations will continue.

Tehran has repeatedly denied holding talks with Washington, even as reports indicate the US has sent proposals through intermediaries, including Pakistan, in an attempt to secure a halt to hostilities. Iranian officials say the country will not stop fighting while attacks continue, casting doubt on the prospects of a near-term ceasefire.
