Who was Robin Westman linked with Minneapolis shooting? MAGA claims his gun magazine had 'kill Donald Trump' written on it

Several MAGA handles claimed Robin Westman was the alleged shooter of Minneapolis.

After the tragic shooting at a Minneapolis Catholic school mass Wednesday, the police confirmed that the suspect who killed himself after opening fire at the morning mass was a male in his 20s. While the police did not reveal the alleged shooter’s name, social media was abuzz with speculations that the person was Robin Westman, who posted a disturbing video on YouTube before the shooting. The video had details of the church where the shooting took place. The police did not verify these claims, while several MAGA handles shared the viral claims that Westman’s gun magazines had ‘kill Donald Trump’ written on it.

Who was Robin Westman? Was he the Minneapolis shooter?

Going by social media speculations, Robin Westman was the shooter. But police did not confirm this name. MAGA commentators shared a photo of Robin Westman and claimed that he was transgender. “The alleged shooter released multiple videos on social media, which showed that he clearly hated Christians. They have since been taken down. ‘Where is your God?’ read one mag. Evil monster,” Collin Rugg posted.”I think I am dying of cancer. It’s a tragic end as it’s entirely self-inflicted. I did this to myself as I cannot control myself and have been destroying my body through vaping and other means. I think I have lung cancer. I have felt many pains that make me think I am past the point of recovery. I do not want to recover. I do not want to throw my life away by rotting in a hospital bed. I don’t want the rest of my life to be as a cancer patient, in and out of hospitals, constantly being fretted about with people afraid to be too happy around me,” one paragraph of the allaged manifesto said.

What we know about the shooter

While all these are not confirmed by the police, the shooter was a male with no extensive criminal history, the cops asserted. The shooter had three weapons — rifle, shotgun and pistol. He approached the side of the church and shot dozens of rounds through the windows toward the children sitting in the pews during Mass at the Annunciation Catholic School. “This was a deliberate act of violence against innocent children and other people worshipping. The sheer cruelty and cowardice of firing into a church full of children is absolutely incomprehensible,” Minneapolis Police chief Brian O’Hara said.
