ALERT: Iran Defies Trump Ultimatum, Threatens Energy Grids as Gulf Tensions Escalate

Tensions in the Middle East have reached a critical stage as Iran defies a 48-hour ultimatum from US President Donald Trump to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. With only 24 hours remaining, the situation is rapidly escalating toward potential attacks on Iranian power plants. Trump’s warning emphasized that failure to comply would result in targeted strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure. Iran, however, has issued a strong counter-threat, stating that any attacks on its power plants will trigger a complete shutdown of the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran has also warned that US and Israeli facilities, energy grids, and water infrastructure in the Gulf region could be targeted in retaliation. The conflict has already intensified with ongoing missile and drone strikes. Iranian proxies, including Hezbollah and Houthi forces, have attacked US and Israeli bases in Iraq, releasing videos of their operations. Meanwhile, Israel carried out overnight strikes on Tehran, targeting government and strategic installations, while Iran responded with missile barrages on Israeli cities. Experts warn that the standoff could severely disrupt global oil and gas supply, with the Strait of Hormuz being a vital maritime route for energy exports. Analysts also caution that the conflict may enter a new phase, with potential regional escalation and retaliatory attacks on strategic infrastructure across the Gulf. The world watches closely as the countdown to the ultimatum’s expiration continues, raising fears of a broader confrontation.
