Payal pokes fun at Alia Bhatt over ‘breach of privacy’ statement

Alia Bhatt slams viral videos of her new home, calls it 'a clear invasion of privacy'

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are soon set to shift to their new house which has been under construction for many years now. At many instances, Ranbir and Alia along with Neetu Kapoor have also been spotted there. As their newly constructed bungalow is now ready, it is estimated to be around Rs 250 crore and a video of this six-storey building has been going viral on the internet. Not to mention, several sites also carried it, giving people a glimpse of their new house. However, Alia expressed that she’s upset about it, calling it both a “clear invasion of privacy” and a “serious security issue.” While Alia’s statement struck a chord with many, actor Payal Rohatgi voiced a starkly different opinion. She trolled Alia for the same. She shared a report on Instagram, and said, “That does not come under invasion of privacy. Your sexual act with your husband or another man comes under the invasion of privacy. @aliaabhatt sharing the location of your house is not INVASION OF PRIVACY. Hope u get basic common sense. Influencers make videos on the streets (PUBLIC), and there are houses in background. Get yourself security and cameras as you can afford them, but kindly use rationale. This is not history but common sense.”Payal’s post quickly went viral on Reddit, where many users and fans criticised her remarks. One person commented, “People be saying anything these days to stay relevant, she’s such a massive hater.” Another added, “Imagine being so out of touch and hating someone on the Internet so much! Yikes!”For those not in the know, here’s what Alia had shared on her social media on Tuesday. The actress shared a note which read, “I understand that in a city like Mumbai, space is limited – sometimes the view from your window is another person’s home. But that does not give anyone the right to film private residences and push those videos online. A video of our home – still under construction – has been recorded and circulated by multiple publications, without our knowledge or consent. This is a clear invasion of privacy and a serious security issue. Filming or photographing someone’s personal space without permission is not ‘content’ – it’s a violation. It should never be normalised.”On work front, Alia is currently working on ‘Love & War’ and her spy universe film ‘Alpha’.
