Kangana reacts to Nora’s song ‘Sarke Chunar’ after backlash

'Cheap tactics, attention seeking ke liye hadd paar kardi hai,' Kangana Ranaut reacts to Nora Fatehi, Sanjay Dutt's song 'Sarke Chunar'

The makers of ‘KD: The Devil’ released a song ‘Sarse Ninna Seraga Sarse’ titled ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ in the Hindi version. However, as soon as they dropped the song and the video, it faced severe backlash for its obscene lyrics and visuals. The internet was flooded with users criticising the song. The track features Nora Fatehi alongside Sanjay Dutt. The lyrics have been penned by Raqueeb Alam, while the film’s music has been composed by Arjun Janya.Much of the criticism centred on the song’s lyrics and visuals, with several viewers calling them inappropriate. Many users also accused the makers of relying on provocative imagery and double-meaning lyrics. Priyank Kanungo, a member of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), also criticised the song and its content. Speaking about it on March 16, he remarked, “Who can sit with their civilised family and watch this?” Amidst the backlash now, Kangana Ranaut has also reacted to the song. She was spotted outside the Parliament and when asked about it, she told the media, in a video shared by ANI, “Cheap tactics aur attention seeking ke liye Bollywood ne har had paar kar di hai. Yeh gaane hum bachpan se sunte aaye hai par beech beech mein ispe pratibandh lagaa hai aur abhi mujhe lagta hai aur zyada strictness honi chahiye. Family ke saath baithke TV on karna dushvar ho gaya hai toh iska bhi mujhe lagta hai Bollywood pe lagaam lagaani padegi. (Bollywood has crossed all limits with vulgarity, tactics, and attention-seeking. The entire country is condemning and reprimanding them. But I don’t think they have any shame…There needs to be even more strictness about the display of such vulgarity and obscenity…I think some strict rein will have to be put on Bollywood…)” Directed by Prem, KD: The Devil is a Kannada period action film set in 1970s Bengaluru. The story is believed to draw inspiration from real-life incidents and follows the rise of a petty criminal who eventually becomes a powerful gangster. Following the backlash, the Hindi version of the song has been removed from Youtube.
