A major escalation has been reported in the ongoing Middle East conflict as Iran launched heavy missile and drone attacks targeting American military bases in Israel and several Gulf countries. One of the main targets was the US base at Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates. Iranian forces reportedly fired 10 Fateh and Qadr missiles and used advanced drones during the assault. According to Iranian claims, around 700 missiles and nearly 3,600 drones have been used since the war began on February 28. Iran also announced the first combat use of its powerful Sejjil ballistic missile, which has a range of 2,000–2,500 kilometers, can carry a 700-kg warhead, and travels at speeds of nearly 17,000 km/h, making it difficult for missile defense systems to intercept. Meanwhile, another attack was reported in Bahrain, where Iranian missiles and drones targeted areas near US military facilities. Bahrain’s air defense system intercepted several drones, but explosions were heard across the region. Reports also suggest that Israel may be facing a shortage of missile interceptors, raising concerns about its ability to counter continued Iranian strikes.
