Priyadarshan reveals Tabu’s secret role in ‘Bhooth Bangla’

Priyadarshan reveals Tabu's secret role in Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Bhooth Bangla’: 'No logic in the story without her'

Prepare for a spine-tingling yet side-splitting experience with ‘Bhooth Bangla’, the latest horror-comedy from Priyadarshan! Slated for release next month, it brings Akshay Kumar back into the fold after a 15-year break. Priyadarshan highlights Tabu’s indispensable character, insisting the story wouldn’t hold up without her. Read on to know more in detail.

Priyadarshan’s horror comedy ‘Bhooth Bangla’, starring Akshay Kumar in the lead, is all set to arrive in theaters next month. Ahead of its release, the filmmaker opened up about the movie’s star cast. He stated that the story has no logic without Tabu’s character and went on to praise Rajpal Yadav’s comedy.

Priyadarshan says ‘Bhooth Bangla’ is logicless without Tabu’s character

Priyadarshan has worked with Tabu in several movies. Talking about ‘Bhooth Bangla’, the filmmaker told Mid-Day that she looks beautiful in this film as well. He said, “She looks as beautiful in it as she did in Virasat (1997). Without Tabu’s character, there’s no logic in the story. For those unaware, Priyadarshan and Tabu have collaborated on films like ‘Kaalapani’ (1996), ‘Virasat’ (1997), ‘Hera Pheri’ (2000), and ‘Snegithiye’ (2000).Talking about Rajpal Yadav, Priyadarshan said, “He is hilarious in the film and a character you will remember.” When the filmmaker was asked if he has any plans for a sequel, he said, “Maybe Ektaa (Kapoor) can take it forward.”

Priyadarshan on comparison with ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’

In the same interaction, Priyadarshan also addressed the comparison of ‘Bhooth Bangla’ with ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. Talking about the same, he said that the upcoming horror comedy is “being made on a grander scale.” The filmmaker further shared that the people will “smile, and then the eeriness will creep in. The climax is one of the biggest ends ever shot on a huge canvas.”

More about ‘Bhooth Bangla’

The film marks the reunion of Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar after over 15 years. Their last film together was ‘Khatta Meetha’, which was released in July 2010. The star cast of ‘Bhooth Bangla’ includes Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jisshu Sengupta, Rajpal Yadav, Mithila Palkar, Rajesh Sharma, and the late Asrani. The movie is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on April 10, 2026. Go to Source
