Maruti Suzuki India on Friday said its compact sedan Maruti Suzuki Dzire has crossed three million cumulative sales in India, highlighting the model’s sustained demand in the sedan segment.

The Dzire was also the country’s highest-selling car in calendar year 2025, with sales of more than 214,000 units, according to industry data cited by the company.

“The fourth-generation Dzire has well and truly reignited the sedan segment with its refined and sophisticated appeal, ensuring it finds strong preference among young first-time buyers. This demographic represents nearly 50 per cent of customers,” said Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki India.

First launched in 2008, the Dzire has gone through four generations. The model introduced premium features to the compact sedan segment, including dual front airbags, climate control and anti-lock braking system.

The latest fourth-generation Dzire was launched in India in 2024 and is powered by the company’s Z-Series engine while offering several connected and convenience features.

These include an electric sunroof, 360-degree camera, SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and Next-Gen Suzuki Connect with smartwatch connectivity and Alexa integration.

The sedan is available with both petrol and CNG powertrain options. According to the company, it offers a fuel efficiency of 24.79 km per litre in the petrol manual variant and 33.73 km per kg in the S-CNG mode.

Maruti Suzuki added that the model has received five-star safety ratings from both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP.
