The Trump administration’s flagship tax legislation, popularly dubbed the ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill’, is set for a name change. Months after using the label to promote the sweeping tax cuts, President Donald Trump expressed his desire to rebrand the bill during a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, citing the need to better communicate its benefits to working-class Americans.
Trump emphasised that while the original name served its purpose during the bill’s approval process, it lacks clarity for the public. “Last month, in a landmark achievement, I also proudly signed the largest working-class tax cuts in American history. So the bill that — I’m not going to use the term ‘great, big, beautiful’ — that was good for getting it approved, but it’s not good for explaining to people what it’s all about,” Trump said. “It’s a massive tax cut for the middle class.”

The comments mark the first time Trump has publicly acknowledged the need to rebrand a major policy initiative. It also signals a strategic shift in how he and Republican allies plan to pitch their economic agenda ahead of the crucial 2026 midterm elections.
