Iran has said it will allow ships flying the Indian flag to pass through the strategic Strait of Hormuz amid escalating tensions in West Asia. 

The assurance came after a conversation between India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, according to sources cited in media reports.
