Breaking News: Farooq Abdullah Escapes Assassination Attempt at Wedding Event in Jammu

A major security incident has emerged from Jammu and Kashmir, where former Chief Minister and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah narrowly escaped an assassination attempt. The incident took place late last night during a wedding ceremony in the Greater Kailash area of Jammu. According to reports, around 10 PM, as Farooq Abdullah was leaving the function after attending the wedding of a party leader’s daughter, a man approached him from behind and allegedly tried to shoot him at close range. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced. However, Abdullah’s security personnel quickly reacted and pushed the attacker’s hand away, preventing the bullet from hitting him. The accused, identified as Kamal Singh Jamwal, a resident of Jammu’s Purani Mandi area, was immediately overpowered and arrested by security officials. Police have also recovered the weapon used in the attack. Several senior leaders, including Surinder Choudhary, the Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, were present at the wedding. The incident has raised serious concerns about security lapses, as Farooq Abdullah is a Z-Plus security protectee. Authorities are now investigating the motive behind the attack.
