‘Admit the mistake’: Donald Trump urges Cracker Barrel to ditch new logo; calls it ‘billion dollar opportunity’

US President Donald Trump has weighed in on the Cracker Barrel logo controversy, urging the company to revert to its old branding, admit its mistake, and use the situation as a business opportunity. In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, on Tuesday, Trump advised the restaurant chain to “go back to the old logo, admit a mistake based on customer response (the ultimate Poll), and manage the company better than ever before.”He also suggested the company hold a major press conference and make use of what he described as “a Billion Dollars worth of free publicity” if handled well. “Very tricky to do, but a great opportunity,” Trump said. “Make Cracker Barrel a WINNER again,” he added.

.

The comments come amid backlash over Cracker Barrel’s recent rebranding that replaced its original logo – featuring a man leaning on a barrel – with a simplified, modern text-based design. The change, part of a broader effort to modernise the company’s image and attract new customers, drew strong reactions online, with some calling it an unnecessary move away from the brand’s roots. Trump concluded his post by linking the company’s situation to his own presidency, saying, “remember, in just a short period of time I made the United States of America the ‘HOTTEST’ Country anywhere in the World. One year ago, it was ‘DEAD.’ Good luck!”Cracker Barrel has responded to the criticism, stating it “could’ve done a better job” in communicating the reasons behind the redesign and clarified that key brand elements will remain intact. However, the controversy has led to wider online debate, with some arguing that the backlash is overblown, while others suggest that such rebranding risks alienating loyal customers.
