When Kapil asked Sidhu what he appreciates the most about Malaika, the former cricketer-turned-politician highlighted her personality and work ethic.Sidhu said, “The most important thing is that she has hitched her wagon to the stars. But her feet are firmly on the ground. I’ve never seen a more grounded celebrity.”He went on to praise her discipline, adding with humour, “Secondly, her discipline. She eats on time. She has an entourage of 56.”In a lighthearted moment, Sidhu also hugged Malaika and said, “My love for her is such that she can never disappoint me, how much ever she tries throughout her life.”

‘I fondly call him Sherry’

Malaika responded warmly to Sidhu’s praise and spoke about the friendship they developed while working together.She said, “Not Sidhu ji, I fondly call him Sherry. He’s the world’s most genuine, true and dildaar (generous), and most amazing human being.” Talking about their time judging the show together, she added, “I’ve learnt a lot of little things about life and cricket from him while shooting together.”Malaika also shared that the friendship was unexpected but meaningful. “They say after a certain age, you don’t make new friends. I’ve made a true friend in Sherry.”

Host Kapil Sharma kept the atmosphere lively with his trademark humour. As Sidhu walked onto the stage while looking at his phone, Kapil joked that he might be putting it on flight mode to avoid a call from his wife, Navjot Kaur Sidhu.Later, when Kapil asked Malaika, “What is more important in life, being good or mischievous?”, Sidhu quickly replied, “Malaika ma’am is very mischievous, I can’t tell you how much.” Kapil then jokingly added that even Malaika’s mother might not know her as well as Sidhu seems to.Navjot Singh Sidhu and Malaika Arora recently served as judges alongside singer Shaan on Season 11 of India’s Got Talent.
