Featuring behind-the-scenes footage of talented artisans at work and spirited crowds reveling in the performances, this initiative serves as a powerful reminder of opera’s enduring charm and cultural significance.

Recently, Timothée Chalamet went viral for his comment about opera no longer being something that “no one cares about this.” Now, as per a brand new social media post which has been shared online, the New York City opera company made sure to hit back at the comment in their own unique way.

Taking to a popular social media platform, the opera company posted a quirky video in reply to the ‘Marty Supreme’ actor and his comment about opera and ballet not being relevant anymore.

The video started off with the caption “All respect to the opera (and ballet) people out there,” written on it, while the entire video consisted of clips and videos of people working behind the scenes to create opera costumes and other accessories, along with instruments, stages as well as practicing the art itself. The clip also had glimpses of loud audiences seated in theatres, clapping and cheering the performers on. The video was uploaded on the platform along with the caption, “This one’s for you, Timothée Chalamet… (eyes emoji.”

About Timothée Chalamet’s comment about opera and ballet

While appearing with Matthew McConaughey on the ‘Variety and CNN Town Hall’ event, Chalamet made certain comments about the art of opera and ballet. While talking to his co-star, the ‘Marty Supreme’ actor mentioned, “I don’t want to be working in ballet, or opera, or things where it’s like, ‘Hey, keep this thing alive, even though like no one cares about this anymore.’ All respect to all the ballet and opera people out there.” The conversation was initially about movies, cinema, and how going to the theatres is no longer the trend in most places anymore.On the work front, Chalamet is all set and ready to take over his role once more as Paul Atreides in ‘Dune: Part Three.’ The movie has completed filming and is currently in the post-production stage.
