Netflix’s hit courtroom comedy, ‘Maamla Legal Hai’, officially returns for Season 2 on April 3, 2026. The new chapter brings a massive twist as fan-favorite lawyer V.D. Tyagi (Ravi Kishan) sets aside his “jugaadu” tactics to transition into an aspiring judge. Set in the eccentric Patparganj District Court, the sequel promises more “paisa-vasool” legal battles based on bizarre true events. Joining returning stars Nidhi Bisht and Naila Grewal are new cast members Kusha Kapila and Dinesh Lal Yadav, adding fresh chaos to the satirical madness. Expect sharper wit, heart, and unconventional verdicts in this highly anticipated return.

The “tareekh” has finally been set as after the massive success of its debut season, Netflix’s hit courtroom comedy ‘Maamla Legal Hai’ is officially returning for Season 2. The Patparganj District Court is ready to reopen its doors, bringing back the signature blend of “satya durghatnaon par aadharit” (based on true events) legal battles and the sharp, satirical humor that turned the series into a fan favorite.

‘Maamla Legal Hai’ Season 2 release date

The heart of the show, Ravi Kishan, reprises his role as the outspoken and ingenious V.D. Tyagi. The new season introduces a significant twist in the plot with Tyagi now eager to prove his mettle from the other side of the bench as a judge.Reflecting on his return, Ravi Kishan shared in a Netflix press release, “I can’t believe I am saying this, but I am looking forward to going to court! This season, Tyagi is eager to prove himself as a judge, but it’s a task easier said than done. Yahaan har maamla serious hota hai, par tareeka bilkul hatke (Every case here is serious, but the approach is completely unconventional).

Cast details of the Patparganj squad

While the original “squad” of lawyers remains at the core of the chaos, Season 2 is adding fresh sparkle to the ensemble. Social media influencer and actress Kusha Kapila along with the popular actor Dinesh Lal Yadav (Nirahua) join the cast, promising to bring new dynamics to the courtroom.Returning favorites include Nidhi Bisht as the determined Sujata Didi, Naila Grewal as the idealistic, charcoal-water-drinking Ananya Shroff, Anant Joshi as the witty “Donna of Patparganj,” Vishwas Pandey and Anjum Batra as the ever-reliable Lakhmir Mintu. The makers dropped an update on their official Instagram handle captioning the video as, “Ab pata chala Delhi ke langooron ka raaz. Patparganj ki atrangi toli jo laut rahi hai. Watch Maamla Legal Hai: Season 2, out 3 April, only on Netflix.”

Plot twist of ‘Maamla Legal Hai’ Season 2

Season 2 continues to draw inspiration from the absurdities of real-life Indian legal cases. Reports suggest viewers can look forward to hearing about “rats eating marijuana” and “parrots charged with obscenity,” all while navigating the personal quests of the staff. The series will also address popular fan questions like: Will Sujata Didi finally get her coveted AC chamber? Will Ananya Shroff’s fight for justice survive the harsh reality of the district court? And most importantly, will Tyagi find that “kick” in justice while wearing the judge’s robes?
