Breaking: Cloudburst In Himachal’s Kinnaur Triggers Flood In Sutlej, Heavy Rain Havoc In North India

Severe weather conditions have gripped several parts of North India with reports of cloudbursts, floods, and landslides. In Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district, a cloudburst in Panwi early this morning triggered a sudden rise in the water level of the Sutlej River. Dramatic visuals showed water and debris gushing down the hills, leading to a flood-like situation downstream. Authorities have issued alerts for low-lying areas while the IMD has sounded a red alert in Chamba and Kangra, and an orange alert in Mandi, Kullu, and Manali. The Beas River also swelled dangerously, flooding the Chandigarh–Manali National Highway. Several structures, including shops, a hotel, and homes in Bahang area, were washed away, and residents have been shifted to safer locations.Meanwhile, in Rajasthan’s Udaipur district, a car lost control and fell into a drain near Kherwada late last night. Rescue teams managed to pull out the vehicle, but details about the passengers remain unclear. In Arunachal Pradesh’s West Kameng district, a massive landslide blocked a road where several vehicles were parked. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. The extreme weather has disrupted daily life, damaged infrastructure, and raised concerns over worsening monsoon-related disasters across the region.
