Massive uproar was witnessed during the Budget Session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly as opposition parties staged strong protests over the alleged lathi-charge on chowkidars at Dak Bungalow Square in Patna. Legislators from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Indian National Congress targeted the government inside the House, demanding accountability. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav accused the Nitish Kumar-led government of being a “government of lathis and bullets,” alleging excessive use of force against protestors. The heated exchanges and sloganeering forced the Speaker to adjourn the proceedings multiple times. The opposition insisted on a detailed discussion on the incident, while the ruling side defended its stance. The disruption highlights rising political tensions in Bihar during the ongoing budget session.
