During one of his recent appearances, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ended up mentioning one of the most popular and beloved films of all time, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. In response, filmmaker Karan Johar was quick to express his gratitude for the Prime Minister’s comments.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praises ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’

During his public address in Jakarta, the prime minister of the country opened up about various topics, which also included talking about the popularity of Indian cinema on the international realm. The politician was quick to give a special shoutout to ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ as well, specifically calling it “bhaarat ka gaana” (India’s song) and talking about how popular it is in Indonesia.During his address, he added, “Yahan Bharat ka gana ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ bahut hi lokpriya hai. Aaj maine is par kaha ki jab Bharat aur Indonesia saath milkar chalte hain, toh ‘kuch kuch’ se bhi aage badhkar ‘bahut kuch’ hota hai” (The Indian song ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ is very popular here. Today, I remarked that when India and Indonesia move forward together, we go beyond just ‘kuch kuch’ (something) to achieve ‘bahut kuch’ (a great deal)).

In response to PM Narendra Modi’s mention of ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, Karan Johar, the famed name behind the film and song reacted on his socials. Sharing a photo of the Indian Prime Minister on his Instagram stories section, he wrote, “Elated & honoured to have our esteemed Prime Minister @narendramodi ji speak about Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in Jakarta. There is indeed a language that transcends all it’s love. Thank you for embracing & making this song live forever!!!”
