Manon Bannerman, the vibrant voice of KATSEYE, has chosen to pause her whirlwind journey with the group. On February 20, 2026, she announced a temporary hiatus to focus on her health and well-being, a move that has fans rallying around her with love and understanding.

Official announcement

KATSEYE shared the heartfelt update via social media. “After open and thoughtful discussions, we want to share that Manon will be stepping back from group activities for a temporary period to focus on her health and wellbeing,” the group stated. They added warmth and reassurance, stating, “KATSEYE remains dedicated to supporting one another and our fans, who are everything to us. We will continue with our scheduled activities during this time and eagerly anticipate reuniting when the time is right.”This comes amid their skyrocketing success, including recent Grammy nods.

Manon’s Own Words on Strength

Manon has always spoken candidly about life’s pressures. In a September 2025 Billboard Philippines interview, she reflected on fame’s rewards. “It’s been honestly so heartwarming,” she said of their growth through tracks like ‘Gnarly’.She lit up, recalling idols like the Jonas Brothers embracing their music. “I remember seeing it and thinking like, ‘The Jonas Brothers? My God!’ I was just in so much shock because that was my whole childhood! So seeing all these people that we used to look up to now listening to our songs is absolutely surreal,” Manon shared, laughing. “It really does come with great pride, I would say… I want to show girls that they can do whatever they want, and that you know you can never dream too big,” she told the outlet.

Facing hate with grace

Manon has navigated online backlash with wisdom. “Honestly, I tend not to take it personally unless it’s constructive criticism, but if it’s hate, don’t let that get to you. Haters come with success, it’s just a given,” she advised lightheartedly. She urged empathy. “A lot of people who hate online are probably going through something and use that hate to vent… Even if it’s a hater, if you kill them with kindness, they can’t say anything.”Her bond with the group sustains her. “I think we really do like leaning on each other because it’s so refreshing and nice to have five other girls who are going through the exact same thing. That makes it a lot easier.”On growth, she laughed, “Overall, I think I’ve become such a hard worker, like we really do work a lot… I love diving into that work mentality.”

Path forward

Fans, or Eyekons, flooded comments with support, echoing her call for kindness. This hiatus underscores the real human side of stardom. KATSEYE plans to keep shining, with hopes of Manon’s strong return. Go to Source
