‘Daddy ne halka sa smile diya aur phir..’: Babloo Mukherjee speaks about his father Keshto Mukherjee and brother’s demise

Babloo Mukherjee opens up about his father’s passing

In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, Babloo Mukherjee shared that his father had always been a religious person and had gone on a spiritual voyage at the time when he met with a tragic accident. Explaining in detail, Mukherjee shared, “Toh Bombay jaise outskirts gae, woh petrol pump me gae the to fill the petrol. Aur woh jaise hi petrol pump se bahar nikle, saamne jo truck aa rahe the, truck ne gaadi ko dhakka maara” (So, like Bombay Outskirts, he went to a petrol pump and filled up. As he got out of the pump, a truck coming in front of him hit the car.)He further added that the truck did not see the car, as another truck had been standing there. When his car was hit, Babloo explained that the car spun around a few times. The door unlatched on the side, and half of his father’s body was out of the car. He added that because the car spun around, Keshto Mukherjee’s skull suffered repeated injuries.

The actor also shared what happened the night his father passed away and how he spent his last moments with him. He said, “Jis raat ko unki death hui, he was in his bedroom, mai, mummy mera bhai hum hamare bedroom me the, toh daddy ne awaaz lagaya” (The night he died, he was in his bedroom. My mom, my brother, and I were in our bedroom when daddy called out.) He added that he called his name loudly and told him to feed him. Mukherjee added that his mother brought him a plate and left to talk to her younger brother. He fed his father and, after a few bites and a sip of water, his father told him to lay him back down. “Woh bola, ‘Put me down.’ So I gave him some. Toh niche aisa khiskaya, so his head came on my lap and his face was up, and he was looking up at me. Toh daddy ne halka sa smile diya aur phir dekhte rahe.”He shared that his father had passed away, and they had called their family doctor to confirm the news. Babloo Mukherjee opens up about his brother’s passingLater on, he also talked about how his brother, Ranjit, passed away only a few years after he lost his father. Detailing the matter, he shared that his brother was only 14 when he met with an accident. Talking about Ranjeet’s passing, the actor shared, “He had just given his 8th standard, and he had gone with his friends to Cirque Hotel to party.” He further explained that the bike he was riding on had gotten into an accident, which had resulted in his passing.Recounting the difficult times, he added that his mother was far more affected by Rajneet’s passing, as he was her “ladla” and left her mentally disturbed.
