Nissan India will finally launch the new Nissan Gravite MPV in the Indian market today, i.e., 17th February 2026. Based on the facelifted Renault Triber, it gets a few Nissan-specific styling changes and is aimed at buyers who want an affordable, practical three-row option. The budget MPV space is about to get a bit more crowded with the upcoming Nissan Gravite. Based on the facelifted Renault Triber, it gets a few Nissan-specific styling changes and is aimed at buyers who want an affordable, practical three-row option. If you’re thinking of booking one, here are five things you should know.

Design and platform

The new Nissan Gravite is built on the CMF-A+ architecture which is also shared with the Renault Triber. Design-wise, the Nissan Gravite’s overall silhouette will be similar to that of the Renault Triber. Up front, it gets a version of the brand’s V-Motion grille, reworked headlamps and prominent ‘GRAVITE’ badging on the bonnet. It will feature newly designed styled wheels with roof rails. Changes at the rear include revised tail-lamps with chrome elements and updated bumpers. At the rear, too, it gets, and you get GRAVITE lettering in the centre. The MPV will be available in five exterior paint options, headlined by a distinctive teal finish, and complemented by white, silver, black and grey choices.

Interior

Inside, it is expected to retain the Triber’s interior layout, with minor updates including a new colour theme, a redesigned centre console and other small changes. Similar to the Triber, the Gravite will be offered with a three-row cabin configured in a 5+2 seating layout. Just like the Triber, the third row can be removed to free up luggage space when required.

Features and safety

On the feature front, it’s expected to get a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, automatic LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, push-button start, wireless phone charging, a cooled glove box, cruise control and more. Safety features will include six airbags, stability control, ABS with EBD, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a rear parking camera, front and rear parking sensors and more.

Engine

Talking about the engine next, the Nissan Gravite will be powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, NA petrol engine with 72hp and 96Nm of torque. Gearbox options will include a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT. Nissan may also introduce a CNG option, likely as a dealer-level fitment.

Expected price and rivals

The Triber, on which it is based, is priced from ₹ 6 lakh, so the Gravite is likely to carry a slight premium, with expected starting prices around ₹ 6.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Pre-bookings are expected to open today. When launched, the new Gravite will directly compete with the Renault Triber.
