UK resident Gurpreet Randhawa jailed for 18 years for assaulting minors, threatened victims into sending indecent images

A 21‑year‑old man from Wolverhampton, UK has been jailed for 18 years for a series of sex offences against children involving two 15‑year‑old girls and a 12‑year‑old girl, police said.Gurpreet Randhawa, of Wellington Road, was sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Thursday after pleading guilty to multiple serious offences. These included four counts of rape, two counts of taking indecent images of a child, and two offences of sharing indecent images and engaging in sexual communication, West Midlands Police said. The offences took place between July 2024 and September 2025. Randhawa persuaded two 15‑year‑old girls he had met online to meet him in person. He raped one of the girls on three separate occasions over the period from August to September last year, police added. In the third of these attacks, he took the victim to a car park in Wolverhampton and raped her in the back of his vehicle. When she tried to resist, he grabbed her by the throat. The girl later told school staff about the attack, and they alerted police, who arrested Randhawa on the same day.Officers also found that Randhawa had used different identities online to contact a 12‑year‑old girl. Through social media, he engaged in sexualised conversations with her and sent inappropriate videos and pictures of himself. He threatened to harm her if she did not send indecent images in return and encouraged her to involve her friends in doing the same, the force added. Officers said he also smoked drugs with the girls during one of the attacks.Detective Constable Mark Tallis, from the West Midlands Police public protection unit, said Randhawa had targeted and exploited young girls “for his own sexual desires”.He added that it was the bravery of the victims in coming forward that enabled police to build a strong case and secure convictions. Randhawa has been placed on the sex offenders register for life.
