Akshay Kumar leads Mumbai clean league; 'Bhooth Bangla' actor opens Andheri Flower Show

Akshay Kumar brought colour and civic spirit to the city as he inaugurated Andheri’s first-ever flower show over Valentine’s weekend. The event, held on February 14 and 15 from 8 am to 9 pm, blended vibrant floral displays with a call for urban cleanliness. The show marked a fresh effort by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to combine aesthetics with awareness. It also served as the curtain-raiser for a larger initiative that the actor will spearhead. Kumar has been named the face of the new ‘Mumbai Clean League,’ a competition designed to boost the city’s ranking under the national cleanliness mission.

Initiative aims to strengthen civic participation

Reports from News 18 says that the Mumbai Clean League will operate across various city wards, pushing communities to participate. According to officials, this league hopes to inspire residents to take ownership of their surroundings.

Akshay Kumar recounts slapping incident at a ‘Very big party’

In another news, Akshay Kumar recently opened up about what he calls his most embarrassing moment. The revelation came during an episode of the reality game show Wheel of Fortune, where he appeared on stage with Aman Gupta, Anupam Mittal, and Namita Thapar. The actor was asked by Aman Gupta, “What has been your life’s most ‘gajab beizzati’ (highly embarrassing) moment?” Akshay recalled an incident from an event he attended with a close friend. An argument broke out when another person repeatedly abused his friend. Akshay said, “He abused once, I told him not to. He did it again. Then a third time. I kept warning him four to five times, but he just wouldn’t stop.” His friend was deeply upset. Akshay shared that his friend “had actually started crying because it was extremely embarrassing for him.” In a moment of anger, the actor slapped the person. The man fell unconscious, creating panic at the party. Akshay said, “We poured water on him, and I was praying that he would regain consciousness.” The moment made him fear for his career. The person eventually regained consciousness. But the actor still considers the incident a mistake. He admitted he would never react that way today. Akshay said, “Had it been today, I would never react like that,” adding, “For me, that was the real ‘gajab beizzati’ moment, something I would want to change, if I could. Today, I would simply walk away.”
