The film saw a notable uptick on its ninth day, indicating sustained audience interest and a likely crossing of the Rs 5 crore mark soon.

‘Aashakal Aayiram’ has continued its steady theatrical run and has now collected Rs 4.95 crore worldwide in nine days. The film stars Jayaram and his son Kalidas Jayaram, who returned together on screen after a long interval. Their on-screen pairing drew considerable attention before release and has helped sustain family audiences through the weekdays. According to Sacnilk the film’s India net stands at Rs 4.74 crore.

Day nine sees a notable uptick

The film saw an encouraging rise on Day 9 with a collection of Rs 54 lakhs which is higher than its Day 8 earnings.’Aashakal Aayiram’ opened with Rs 60 lakhs and grew on its second day to Rs 85 lakhs and hit its best early surge on Day 3 at Rs 1 crore. After that it moved through moderate weekday figures including Rs 40 lakhs on both Day 4 and Day 5 with a small rise to Rs 45 lakhs on Day 6 and a sharper dip to Rs 20 lakhs on Day 7 before picking up again. On Day 8 it collected Rs 30 lakhs. The film is directed by G. Prajith and carries a mix of drama and commentary on the entertainment world. Our ETimes review states, “Although Sharaf U Dheen genuinely tries to carry the anti-villain role, the motives behind his character’s hostility feel weak.” The review adds that the supporting cast brings depth and energy, noting, “On a brighter note, the supporting cast including Ishaani Krishna, Ramesh Pisharody, Anand Manmadhan, Akhil, and Senthil Krishna etc delivers good performances that helps the film.”The reception to the soundtrack has been uneven. Our review notes that the recreated version of a well-known track stands out for its appeal, stating, “while the recreated version of ‘Dil Dil Salaam Salaam’ hits the right nostalgic notes, the rest of the soundtrack fails to make any real impact.” ETimes review also says, “The female lead, played by Asha Sharath, is perhaps the film’s weakest link in terms of writing.”Despite the critical observations the box office performance shows that audience interest remains consistent and the film is all set to cross the Rs 5 crore mark soon.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers and data in this article are compiled from diverse public and industry sources.
